You can create or edit your own alerts to ensure your dispatchers are aware of issues requiring their intervention in order to keep operations running smoothly. Choose from a set of existing alerts covering common scenarios or create your own to address specific scenarios in your business.

For example, you may want to set up an alert that an order exceeds a specific weight, requiring they reassign it to a different vehicle.

When you create a new alert, you define its text, the initial trigger, the detailed conditions, its severity, and if it should display inside Bringg or send as a notification. As part of the setup, you can also enable a set of alerts when needed, like on weekends or busy holiday periods.

Procedure

  1. To configure alerts in Bringg, go to Settings > Alerts.

    Access the alert settings
Figure 1. Access the alert settings

  2. You can create three types of alerts by selecting + from the left panel.

    Field

    Description

    Order

These alerts relate directly to changes in an order. You can choose from a list of predefined order alerts, or create your own.

    Driver

These alerts relate to changes in a driver's actions or workflow. Currently you can only edit existing driver alerts.

    Optimization

These alerts relate to issues encountered while Bringg created optimized routes. Currently you can only edit existing optimization alerts.

    Tip

To customize a standard Bringg alert, select it and choose to display it inside Bringg, or if you want to view it in another system, configure it as a webhook.

  3. To create a custom alert, select Add a custom alert.

A custom alert must have a container set. If you already created a set of custom alerts, you can add to an existing set by selecting it from the left panel. Alerts in the same set do not fire together; they only share a set for organizational purposes.

  4. Define a new set of alerts by entering a name and description.

Hover over the title New set and select the Edit icon to give it a new name, like Weekend alerts. You can edit the description text in the same way.

  5. Define the text of the alert by hovering over the name New Alert and selecting the Edit icon.

For example, the alert text might be Order is too heavy for a single driver.

  6. To choose the type of trigger that the system monitors for any change, select Add Trigger within Triggers for this alert.

    Field

    Description

    Date arrived

Choose an amount of time (in minutes, hours, or days) before or after a milestone in the order flow when to trigger an alert. For example, you can trigger a late alert if an order is still awaiting preparation, and it is already 30 minutes before it was scheduled to reach its final destination.

    Field changed

Select from a predefined list of fields in the order. For example, you can set up an alert to notify dispatchers if the delivery address field changes. You can see examples of these fields by viewing an order's details in Bringg.

    Event happened

Select this option if you want an alert to fire when a defined event occurs in the order flow, like the creation or rejection of an order.

  7. Add conditions to the alert trigger by selecting attributes.

Bringg fires the alert whenever the attribute's value changes , subject to the filter conditions you define. If you watch more than one attribute, the alert fires when at least one of the attribute values change.

Define the attributes which trigger the alert
Figure 6. Define the attributes which trigger the alert

  8. Define the detailed conditions which must be fulfilled to fire the alert by selecting And filter by > Add Attribute and the required value of that attribute.

Figure 7. Add filter conditions for the alert to trigger

Each set of conditions describes a circumstance when this alert should fire. You can create as many condition sets as you need, by selecting Add conditions set.

Bringg fires the alert if at least one of the condition sets are True . But within a single set, all its conditions must be True. For example, you can instruct the alert to fire if it's an important consumer and the total weight exceeds 55kg, or if it's a white glove service and the weight exceeds 45kg.

SMS fees are charged as part of your bill from Bringg.

    To another system via webhook

Select Webhook to attach this alert to the New Alert webhook. This sends all webhook alerts to a single URL which your IT integrator configured to listen for alert webhooks.

  11. Select Add Alert to add another alert to the same set of alerts, or select + in the left bar to create a new set.

  12. To disable or enable a single alert within a set, or the entire set of alerts, select the toggle.

For example, you can enable the entire set of alerts only on weekends. Alternatively, you can disable specific alerts in a set if they don't apply, say, in winter.
